MEAG Power Billing Analyst in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Title: Billing Analyst

Dept., BU / Section: Financial Services / Budgets & Billing

Reports to: Manager, Budgets & Billing

Location: Atlanta, GA (*On-site)

  • Incumbent must work in office in Atlanta four (4) days per week and may work remotely one (1) day per week with manager approval after 90 day training period

    The Billing Analyst develops, implements, and maintains various billing related data in support of the monthly billing process for MEAG Power’s fleet of generation and transmission assets. The Analyst also prepares variance and other analysis related to the annual budget. The Analyst also assists in the coordination of the monthly billing process, accounting interfaces, and system updates.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Compiles and maintains data, performs analyses, utilizes various computer spreadsheets and programs to generate and publish accurate monthly bills.

  • Analyzes and develops data required to bill customers budgeted fixed and actual variable costs.

  • Maintains customer contract information in billing system.

  • Conducts monthly pre-billing review and data quality analysis to verify accuracy of invoices.

  • Analyses and provides billing data for the year end settlement process and annual report.

  • Transmits billing and budget data to customers and consultants; responds to requests for information regarding budget and billing matters.

  • Uses professional judgment to make decisions necessary to support corporate and departmental objectives.

  • Researches unusual issues via through analysis and investigation.

  • Performs other duties of a similar or related nature and assists in other phases of departmental work as assigned.

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting or related field.

  • Demonstrated experience in a related role 2-5 years

  • Experience with utility billing is a plus.

  • Incumbent should have a good working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, thorough understanding of financial performance measurements accompanied with strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Must be knowledgeable and have demonstrated ability to use Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and Power Point.
