Xcel Energy is seeking an Accelerated Main Program Manager in Arvada, Colorado . The ideal candidate will have construction, project management, and leadership background who has experience in gas utility management.
This position requires the successful completion of a behavioral assessment prior to being considered for an interview.
Provides visionary and strategic leadership while directing project management for the Accelerated Gas Main Replacement Project. Project scope is to manage gas distribution utility replacement and relocations that are identified by Asset Management, in the PSCo territory. Act as primary company interface and coordinate activities with Company/State/ Municipalities/Regulators/Regional Transportation District, engineering services contractors, customers, construction forces, designers, asset management, gas control, field operations, media and legal as required. This position will oversee and be accountable for design; ROW/easements, construction and job close out which includes invoicing for work done. Direct, oversee and manage this high visibility project with significant impacts to all stakeholders. Make gas utility relocation decisions with the accepted contractors both within the planning and replacement phase of each corridor of the project.
Responsible to oversee the resources required for the replacement of gas distribution facilities that are identified as at the end of their life expectancy for that facility, potential leak problems, or incapable of providing needed capacity. Resources can be a combination of Xcel personnel or contractors. Direct Engineering and Design groups to be completed in a timely manner to meet construction completion requirements of the overall AMR Project. Validate utility conflicts and coordinate resolution with other contractors.
Financial Management. Responsible for the overall project budget, including project-level cost tracking and reconciliation. Manage the project's scope, schedule, cost and quality. Maintain capital budget forecasts. Review actuals versus estimate during the project life cycle to identify deviations, research reason for deviation and recommend action plans to correct. Responsible to coordinate timely invoice reimbursements associated with this project.
Responsible to execute agreements for utility relocation. Resolve ROW, license and easement challenges. Establish an Xcel Distribution single point of contact with Xcel departments, municipal entities and the AMRP team. Balance easement rights with all stakeholders.
Responsible to manage field replacements and relocation of gas facilities associated with the AMR Project.
Responsible to resolve all customer complaints in a timely and equitable manner.
High school diploma or equivalent
8 years experience in gas utility management
Working knowledge of engineering/construction regulations
Ability to motivate others and to manage projects
Ability to multitask and to interact simultaneously with diverse work groups
Subject to all applicable Federal, State and Xcel Energy Drug testing requirements
Project management experience
Leadership or supervisory experience
