Senior Associate - International Tax
The International Tax Senior is a key contributor to a high performing team responsible for all US international tax compliance, the quarterly US international tax provision (subpart F & GILTI), and supporting both planning and M&A transactions. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate an ability to think critically, take initiative and identify issues and opportunities. Our Arlington tax team regularly handles complex multi-jurisdictional transactions. We leverage technology to increase efficiency, allowing us to focus on the fun and challenging parts of being a tax professional.
Prepare and review US international information returns such as Forms 5471, 8858, 8865 and the quarterly US international tax provision (Subpart F & GILTI).
Research and analyze tax technical issues associated with transactions and compliance.
Assist with quantitative analysis for international tax planning projects, such as calculating tax basis for foreign entities, gain and loss calculations, E&P analysis, etc.
Annual budgeting and modeling of future consequences of US tax reform including GILTI, 163(j) and foreign tax credits.
Develop effective working relationships with non-tax counterparts in finance, legal and treasury.
Exhibit project management and self-management, communication and teaming skills.
Demonstrate ownership and accountability for achieving personal and company goals and objectives.
Qualifications of International Tax Senior position:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or tax. Master’s degree is a plus.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience with a national accounting firm or a multi-national corporate tax department.
Prior experience in preparation of Forms 5471, 8858, and 8865 (experience with Corptax a plus).
Understanding of US international tax rules (e.g., E&P, sourcing, derivatives, Subpart F, Section 987 & 988, partnerships, etc.) and Subchapter C (including section 368).
Experience with tax technical research and an ability to clearly communicate complex tax issues to management.
Strong communication, analytical, and Microsoft Excel skills.
