Position: Senior Associate, International Tax Compliance

Job Description Summary : The ICQA Senior is responsible for the preparation and/or review of the U.S. income tax returns and quarterly Subpart F computations for AES' foreign subsidiaries. In addition, the senior will be responsible for the preparation of quantitative analysis projects to support business and tax planning transactions under the direction of a manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review federal income tax returns and statements for foreign entities (forms 5471, 8858, 8865, etc.)

  • Prepare the Subpart F income, GILTI and foreign income inclusion computations on a quarterly basis and annual Subpart F and GILTI budget process assisting in the identification of new issues

  • Research and analyze various tax issues and document research findings and tax positions in memos

  • Prepare and assist with quantitative analysis for international tax planning, such as calculating tax basis for foreign entities and performing E&P analysis

  • Assist with U.S. tax analysis for various transaction step plans and prepare U.S. tax compliance requirements addendums

  • Perform detailed analysis of and manipulate source data; manage initial and follow up information requests

  • Assist with any audit requests as needed

  • Develop effective working relationships with corporate and business line finance and legal groups

  • Assist in implementing any changes necessary to meet U.S. international tax compliance reporting obligations

  • Exhibit project management and self-management, communication and teaming skills

  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for achieving goals and objectives

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with a national accounting firm or a multi-national corporate tax department

  • Meaningful experience in preparation of Forms 5471, 8858, and 8865 (1118 a plus)

  • Basic understanding of US international tax rules (i.e. E&P, sourcing, derivatives, Subpart F, GITLI, Section 987 & 988, partnerships, etc.)

  • Strong ability to perform tax technical research

  • Ability to handle multiple assignments/prioritiesconcurrently

  • Strong communication, analytical, and computer skills

  • Solid tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance, familiar with international tax compliance including Forms 5471, 8858, 8865, etc.

  • Experience with Corptax a plus

Educational Preference: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or tax. Master’s degree is a plus.
