SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision, assists with department-wide projects to implement new systems or process improvements. Identifies and evaluates process improvement initiatives to improve business operations. Provides strategic recommendations and decision-making support to business unit leadership. Coordinates the installation of computer operating systems software and tests, maintains, and modifies software.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as Program Analyst for the TNMP Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Outage Management Systems (OMS) Project.

Facilitate the prioritization of repairs and enhancements.

Provide application/product subject matter expertise.

Analyze department requirements for impact on applications and architecture; identify technical solutions and the best implementation approach.

Assist with the evaluation and recommendation of software/hardware for acquisition and business operational changes.

Proactively identify and prevent customer issues/problems.

Execute ad-hoc SQL scripts.

Participate as a team member for software/hardware project implementations.

Develop and perform training for software solution rollouts.

Participate in business process definition and re-engineering.

Ensure functional integration of business process solutions.

Install, maintain, and utilize software, utilities, and tools; evaluate and recommend software, program products, and computer hardware for effectiveness, compatibility, and ease of use.

Participate in a variety of moderately advanced, concurrent, and variable duration technical projects involving software and program products, hardware, and data communications.

Provide customer support for internal and external customers to resolve problems, provide product usage guidance, technical education, or general technical consultation.

Guarantee the integrity of corporate data resources and provide appropriate backup and security for corporate data.

Manage vendor resources when vendor expertise is required.

Assist with forecasting corporate capacity needs and configuration changes.

Identify, document, and adhere to ADMS development standards, system software installation, and maintenance standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline. Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred but not mandatory.

Minimum of two years experience in developing information processing solutions or relevant business process experience is preferred.

At least one years of experience working within the utility industry, specifically in roles related to outage management, transmission, or distribution operations is preferred.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
