Overview

As a User Experience (UX) Design Intern at PPL, you will work closely with our Employee Experience (EX) Design team to assist in the creation and refinement of user-centric digital solutions. This internship is tailored for college students (undergraduate or graduate students) who aspire to gain practical experience in the field of User Experience (UX) design. The EX Design Team creates empowering, easy-to-use, and accessible experiences for end users using a holistic approach to experience design, covering everything from product vision design direction to user-centered design solutions.

Responsibilities

As a UX design intern, you will assist UX designers in any of the following activities:

  • Creating user-centered design solutions with UX flows, wireframes, concepts, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups

  • Evaluating and reporting on usability improvement opportunities through heuristic evaluation

  • Guiding design direction through Product Vision Presentations

  • Fostering collaboration and ideation through workshops and design sprint facilitation

  • Ensuring brand alignment and accessibility with digital style guides

  • Streamlining workflows with process documents

  • Ensuring seamless implementation with concise developer documentation

  • Upholding experience quality through Pre-production Design Quality Assurance (QA)

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree related to UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.

  • Will graduate from their academic program within 12 months of internship completion.

  • Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Basic familiarity with design tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • Passion for understanding user needs and solving complex problems.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and receive feedback constructively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with design tools.

  • Understanding of user experience research.

  • Exposure to design systems.

Remote Work
