Overview
The Strategic Communications Specialist will develop and implement internal and external communications strategies that help the company meet its business goals and enhance the company's brand and reputation. This position will proactively engage with internal stakeholders to manage the timing, content, and coordination of multiple messages and deliverables targeted to internal and external audiences.
Responsibilities
Serve in a consultative role to internal stakeholders; assist in developing targeted communication strategies, programs and tactics to meet communication objectives.
Provide writing and content creation services for development, maintenance and delivery of communications across a wide variety of channels, including traditional and online media, web, social media and print.
Participate in marketing and communications strategy development.
Drive targeted external communication programs to address specific business needs and meet specified objectives.
Provide logistic and messaging support for internal teams and help develop presentations, internal announcements, award nominations and prepare subject matter experts for speaking opportunities.
Publish content to internal and external company channels, as needed.
Provide consistent brand voice and tone across all mediums.
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
Work to promote a strong company culture and a safe work environment within the organization.
Serve on the emergency on-call rotation and be prepared to manage and support crisis communications activities.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
At least five years' work in print or electronic news media, communications, or equivalent.
Advanced proficiency in personal computing skills, including web and social media
Knowledge of PPL and news media
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team, a strong focus on company values and appropriate behaviors
Excellent writing skills with demonstrated capability in speed, accuracy and ability to apply across all mediums, including publications, intranet, web, advertising, video, social media and others.
Excellent interpersonal and oral communications skills. Leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
