Overview

This position is responsible for developing and maintaining procedures associated with field operations equipment. The successful candidate must be capable of influencing and supporting subject matter experts and stakeholders to develop the content within procedures. The role supports and maintains the searchability of procedures through proper management and application of metadata. In addition, the role fosters a digital-first mindset for continuous innovation. This position requires a strong working technical background, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft tools.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborates with subject matter experts to design, develop, and update procedures (including checklists, job aids, work methods, and other documentation) that supports work on PPL Electric Utilities equipment and processes.

  2. Coordinate the review of new or revised documents and work procedures with the Safety, Engineering Standards, Training, and other teams so that all new equipment coming onto the system can be safely maintained and operated as per design.

  3. May supervise Digital Technical Procedures Specialists

  4. Maintains thorough knowledge of digital channel technology platforms and engagement methodologies used by industry peers.

  5. Executes a digital content management strategy to maintain accurate information in PPL’s knowledge-management applications by using taxonomy and metadata tagging within SharePoint Online document libraries.

  6. Makes and ensures that content within procedures is consumable, findable, and governable.

  7. Applies established naming strategies and structure to existing and new procedures.

  8. May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

  9. The company reserves the right to determine if this position will be assigned to work on-site, remotely, or a combination of both. In the case of remote work, physical presence in the office/on-site may be required to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Five-years’ experience in Electric Utility field work (Journeyman equivalent); or a Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline with three-years of experience in Electric Utility work or digital content management; or an associate degree in a technical discipline with five-years of experience in Electric Utility field work or digital content management

  2. Proficient technical writing capability with strong knowledge of Office365 Tools/Apps

  3. Adept facilitation and questioning skills for working with subject matter experts

  4. Strong attention to detail with high standards for quality work product

  5. Excitement, curiosity, and passion for shaping the future digital work procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Solid knowledge of SharePoint Online and Adobe Acrobat

  2. Supervisory experience working with remote teams

  3. Electric Utility background strongly preferred

  4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision- making skills.

  5. Experience with collaborating and successfully working with multiple stakeholders and subject- matter-experts.
