PPL Corporation Site Acquisition Specialist in Allentown, Pennsylvania

Site Acquisition Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Make initial outreach to landowners for the acquisition of land for new solar sites, easements, or additional land for current projects in development through purchase or lease.

  • Qualify sites for solar development.

  • Manage land acquisition processes within a specified region as defined by the Project Development Team

  • Obtain all pertinent information related to the acquisition, entitlement and permitting of the sites. Interact with the Project Development Team and legal counsel for the implementation of a land document tracking and storage system.

  • Assist in the entitlement and permitting of sites, and making land related presentations to PPL management and financiers

  • Maintain or support 3rd party relationships, particularly interactions with landowners, local AHJ’s, title companies and attorneys to foster the successful development and financing of projects

  • Maintain close coordination with the Development team. Detailed activity and status reporting is required including preparation of budgets and maintenance of CRM

  • Required travel up to 75% of the time.

The candidate for this position should be flexible and capable of working in a dynamic team of professionals and be familiar with US power markets and renewable energy development. The candidate must be a hands-on, hard-working team player who can offer creative approaches to land acquisitions and project development. The Site Acquisition Specialist is self-motivated and can work well under pressure, multitask, and the flexibility to shift priorities as required. Key skills include:

  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and MS Word, including use of advanced features

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Basic understanding of real estate development, renewable energy, and finance concepts

  • Ability to read and understand legal documents and real estate contracts

  • Resourcefulness, a meticulous eye to detail, and investigative skills are essential

  • Passion for green energy and responsible development.

Site Acquisition Specialist will be an integral part of the Project Development team helping to ensure the acquisition and development of the most competitive projects in the market that are consistent with the standards of PPL Renewables.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2 years of experience in land acquisitions or real estate development preferably in solar or renewable energy industry.

  • Experience with GIS software.
