Senior Performance Consultant

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts to investigate, research, and diagnose work performance issues using standard techniques (i.e. task analysis, process mapping, gap analysis).

  2. Identify and design performance improvement solutions (i.e. process change, procedure need, training need) that are right-sized for the issue and the organization.

  3. Interpret information gathered from stakeholders to design the scope of the solution (i.e. procedure, training) to be used by a developer or writer to create the content.

  4. Develop and execute implementation plans, change management plans, and communication plans, with appropriate measures, to fully execute the performance issue correction. The role needs to anticipate and deal with unexpected obstacles, breakdowns in solutions, or unplanned resistance.

  5. Facilitate meetings, feedback sessions, and organizational conversation about the design solution.

  6. Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

  7. May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that is activated during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

Position Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to diagnose large-scale work inefficiencies in a systematic manner. Then, to design process changes and/or procedures and training to improve performance. This role specializes in enhancing employee’s and company’s performance technology and may be asked to diagnose and solve issues ranging from common errors to large process breakdowns. This role is closely aligned to root cause analysis (event analysis) processes but is more large-scale, globally focused rather than event focused. (This role does not focus in individual behavioral issues.)

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Five-years of experience in Electric Utility field work or a B.S. technical degree with two-years of experience in Electric Utility field work (i.e. field work, engineering, supervision).

  2. Ability to gather and analyze data used to measure results.

  3. Proficient facilitator of process mapping.
