Senior Cloud Iaas Operations Specialist
Performs a variety of complex assignments (may lead some projects) and analyzes and solves complex problems in the below areas.
Cloud Provider Management:
Manage and develop internal and external client and supplier relationships to ensure high performance and resource efficiencies, whilst establishing and developing long-term supplier relationships
Oversee the management of the relationship with suppliers to ensure the provision of specific resource / technical skills required to fix complex or severe incidents / problems
Provide input into supplier strategy and review meetings
Oversee partner compliance and escalate problems using standard escalation procedures
Cloud Provider Performance Tracking:
Monitor overall performance of PPL EU network and on-premise operations systems
Track incidents related to cloud ecosystem
Responsible for managing and planning the cloud IaaS budget, including the preparation of short-term and long-term financial forecasts
Resource Utilization Management:
Monitor internal utilization of cloud IaaS services
Monitor requests for cloud IaaS services, and enforce effective utilization to promote alignment between IT organizational needs and budgeting goals
Cloud IaaS Service Strategic Alignment:
Collaborate with the Business-Technology Leads to collect requirements from the business to modify and shape cloud services (e.g., tool support, pre-built images, agile build processes, develop / test environments, CI / CD automated deployment, and containerization)
Communicate the cloud environment vision to Cloud Provider
Guide Cloud Provider through strategy for automation of configuration management for all development, quality assurance, and production servers; oversee automation of continuous integration and continuous delivery
Drive integration, support, and alignment of business strategies and priorities with deployment of tools and automated environments
Champion the end-to-end delivery of cloud environment services
Research and identify available cloud platforms or solutions that can meet the needs of the IT organization
Assist the business in defining cloud infrastructure scaling strategies and oversee the development of automation scripts and solutions for streamlining, implementing, and testing applications
Liaise with the Security team to ensure a secure and compliant operating environment
Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.
May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.
The Cloud IaaS Operations Specialist manages the cloud environment through cross technology administration (containers, virtual machines, OS, databases), execution of scripting, and monitoring automations. The Senior level performs assigned tasks under minimal guidance from supervisor.
Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration.

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience OR 8 years of related work experience
Experience planning and delivering services across DevOps tool support, pre-built images, agile build processes, develop / test environments, CI / CD automated deployment, and containerization
Experience working in a cloud first operating environment
Experience managing relationships and service requirements with third party vendors
Proven ability to prioritize and execute tasks
Highly self-motivated and directed with attention to detail
Easily adapts to changing circumstances
Understands business goals and strategic priorities
