Mgr-T&S Standards & Methods
Direct the development and publishing of T&S Engineering, Construction and Maintenance Testing Standards for PPL EU by providing technical guidance on substation related civil/structural, physical/electrical and protection & control design, specification and construction standards associated with structures, foundations, fencing, grading/drainage, major equipment, minor components and relay switchboards/cabinets. Further, the position is responsible for transmission-related civil/structural and physical design, specification and construction standards for structures, foundations and electrical assemblies/connection details. In addition, the position is responsible for the technical specifications associated with major components used in T&S facilities.
Supervise the day to day work efforts of the T&S E&M Standards staff ensuring PPL EU standards meet all applicable NERC, RF, PJM and internal PPL EU Reliability P&P design and maintenance requirements.
Ensure PPL EU remains current with industry trends related to facility designs and maintenance practices that show potential to improve overall reliability of the T&S facilities, reduce installation or maintenance costs, provide improved operational flexibility/control and assist qualified engineers/technicians with asset health determination.
Support other PPL EU departments with resolving design and/or maintenance questions that surface from time to time.
Periodically interface with departments involved with the engineering, construction or commissioning of facilities to determine ways to improve design/maintenance practices.
Prepare and manage the T&S E&M Standards budget.
Ensure T&S E&M Standards group achieves section goals and objectives identified by PPL EU management.
Set priorities for the group to ensure work tasks and initiatives are coordinated with other groups within PPL EU and completed by given deadlines.
Complete special projects that are technical in nature related to E&M standards that support EU business objectives.
Implement and drive Human Performance techniques to ensure high quality and accuracy of engineering and maintenance Standards.

This position supervises and manages the T&S Engineering and Maintenance Standards group responsible for the development and updating of all T&S engineering and maintenance standards (including the maintenance and testing standards for Relay Test). In addition, the position is responsible for development, update and review of technical specifications for major components used with T&S facilities (i.e. transformers, CBs, switches, insulators, poles, etc.). The position supervises the preparation of T&S standard designs, appropriate engineering instructions, maintenance policies (related to specific NERC/RF maintenance and testing standards), specifications, RFQs, bid analysis and recommendations for purchase of transformers, CBs and switches and, as appropriate, support other groups with component failure analysis.
Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
3 years of experience in functions related to Electric Utility Operations, preferably in the design and/or maintenance of T&S facilities and associated components.

Regular or Temporary:
Master’s Degree in a related field.
5 years of experience in functions related to Electric Utility operations, preferably in the design and/or maintenance of T&S facilities and associated components.
Excellent oral and technical writing skills.
