Labor Relations Consultant

Primary Responsibilities:

Advises management and HR Business Partners on matters related to the administration of the labor agreement, employee discipline and grievance and mediation procedures.

Interprets contractual agreements for employers and employees engaged in collective bargaining or other labor relations processes.

Prepares and leads grievance meetings by gathering and analyzing information and presenting the company's position to the union; partners with business leaders and HR Business Partners in preparation through fact-finding; negotiates identified solutions with union leadership.

Memorializing terms of written agreements with the union.

Assists in preparation and facilitation of federal mediation.

Assists in preparation for arbitration.

Provide support as a member of the collective bargaining agreement negotiation team.

Works on other labor-related projects as needed.

Position Summary:

Under general direction, the Labor Relations Consultant is responsible for providing labor relations expertise, counsel, and guidance on labor relations issues related to contract interpretation, grievance resolution and negotiations. . Leads the grievance management process and negotiates solutions with the union on behalf of the company.

Candidate Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of HR, labor relations or legal experience.

Conceptual knowledge of the human resource functions including recruiting, employment law, benefits, compensation and employee relations.
