IT Strategy Specialist

Primary Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:

  • Develop and articulate the vision that underpins all activity, capturing short, medium and long-term goals and providing a high-level activity roadmap, including investment plan and key change programs

  • Ensure that new capabilities required by the business are supported

  • Ensure that operational activity aligns to the wider business objectives

Communications & Coordination:

  • Communicate the relevant segments of the IT Strategy across the workforce, to enable all IT personnel to be aware of how they are contributing to the overall business strategy

  • Coordinate with the business and the Transformation team in development of Technology Strategy

  • Maintain a cross-business unit perspective

Value Realization & Tracking:

  • Oversee the business case tracking and benefits realisation activities (with IT Finance and Performance Specialists)

Physical presence in the office/on-site to engage in face-to-face interaction and coordination of work among direct reports and co-workers.

May be assigned an Electric Utilities emergency and storm role. This is a special assignment that comes into play during storms and other emergencies when the company needs to restore power or respond to other issues affecting customer service. This role may necessitate the need to work after-hours, outside of your normal schedule.

Position Summary:

The IT Strategy Specialist will support the teams responsible for creating and maintaining the IT organization’s future direction and focus in the form of strategies, guiding principles, and operational plans.

Candidate Qualifications:

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience OR 8 years of related work experience

  2. Strong knowledge of service development, delivery, operations and relationship management

  3. Strong strategic planning capabilities
