BES Interconnection Affairs Supervisor
Lead, direct and/or assist with organizing and prioritizing work group activities and assigning and/or scheduling work duties to meet completion dates.
Evaluate staff members for the purpose of developing organizational talent and building expertise in areas required by the department. Develop leadership skills and coordinate technical training aspects for self and staff members.
Work with other sections/departments on cross-functional technical and business teams, working groups or improvement committees to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and/or company.
Assist in the development of changes in methods or processes in assigned area of responsibility, and make recommendations for implementation. Assist in the preparation, monitoring and forecasting of the department budget. Assist in the coordination of development of section and department goals and metrics.
Supervise, direct and provide guidance to staff members. Conduct performance assessments for assigned staff. Responsible for talent acquisition and talent management of staff.
Research and analyze technical and/or business plans, designs, proposals, projects or strategies; provide results and/or recommendations in support of department objectives.
Review, revise and communicate department/section/group procedures in support of administrative and technical improvement initiatives. Responsible for the application of organizational policies. Elevate and reinforce a strong safety culture within the work group, through daily leadership, communication and behaviors.
Set priorities to ensure task completion and coordinate work activities with other supervisors, acting as a liaison with other sections or departments.
Oversee the transmission customer method of supply request for transmission service changes.
Responsible for overseeing transmission planning NERC compliance standards responses.
Supervise development of generator interconnection agreements between PPL EU and the generator owners.
As the main interface with Interconnection Customers, ensure responses to study requests from Generator Developers are completed within required PJM tariff timeframes. Provide oversight to ensure NERC compliance requirements are met consistent with approved required timeframes.
Provide required oversight to ensure agreements are executed with neighboring Transmission Owners prior to commencement of work as specified by PJM.
Actively participate in PJM Planning Committee, Transmission Expansion Advisory Committee and other related planning task force meetings. As a PJM Planning Committee member, review and recommend system planning strategies and policies to assure reliability and operational flexibility of the Bulk Electric System.

The BES Interconnection Affairs Supervisor is responsible for the daily management of transmission interconnection and regulatory requirements that support the business to ensure all transmission planning regulatory requirements are met. Decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plan. This position receives guidance and oversight from the Manager of Transmission Planning. This position does not typically perform the work at the level being supervised, but will have individual technical and business related assignments in support of department goals. The Supervisor coordinates and supervises the daily activities of individuals in single or closely related fields of professional expertise and is accountable for formal supervision, coaching, counseling, safety leadership and technical guidance to assigned staff in support of producing high quality, timely and cost-effective solutions to technical and business objectives. This position is also accountable for the technical quality of the group's output and is expected to continuously improve capabilities in this area.
Candidates must meet the basic qualifications and pass all required tests or assessments to receive consideration. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
Bachelor's Degree in science or an engineering discipline from a college or university program accredited by ABET or recognized by ABET as substantially equivalent.
Minimum five (5) years of related engineering experience or related experience in a leadership role.
Working knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for the specific position.

Regular or Temporary:
Professional Engineer, registered in Pennsylvania.
Advanced degree in Engineering, Science or MBA.
Comprehensive knowledge in one or more areas of expertise is desired to function as a technical leader for important departmental processes.
Demonstrated ability to provide technical direction to technical and non-technical personnel.
Ability to apply comprehensive technical knowledge in supervision and in the completion of assignments.
Sound judgment and strong initiative on resolution of issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with individuals on all levels of the organization.
