Become a Transmission Telecom Inspection Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be in the Technical Support division of Construction and Technical Support withinSCE’sTransmission and Distribution Operating Unit. You will be responsible for meeting all Transmission Telecommunications construction operating dates, and will provide coordination and support between planners, management, and Transmission Telecommunications contract crews. A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Performs inspections of overhead and underground facilities to ensure compliance with company and governmental rules and regulations.
Ensures contractor safely constructs SCE facilities to current SCE Standards.
Works closely with the project manager to ensure all scope is completed.
Conducts meetings related to Transmission Telecommunications construction, attends tail board meetings and preconstruction meetings.
Monitors work site from start of construction to completion.
Documents and provides status and progress of the projects.
Documents discrepancies and non-conformance.
Reviews “As Built “maps and drawings, verifies and accounts for deviations from specifications.
Coordinates outside plant contract construction.
Identifies and evaluates hazardous conditions, safety deficiencies, violations and unsafe work practices and provides recommendations for corrective actions.
Three or more years of experience with Transmission Telecom, Telecom Construction or Telecom maintenance.
Valid CA Driver’s License.
Experience with Transmission Telecommunications Construction Standards, the Underground Structures (UGS) Manual, Communication System Practices Manual, GO128 or GO95.
Experience with work order drawings, surveys and utility substructure and overhead maps.
Experience documenting installed facilities locations on as-built drawings and preparing supporting documentation.
Experience managing multiple tasks with conflicting schedules and limited timelines.
Evaluating the effectiveness of projects, including monitoring progress, reallocating resources, reporting on status, and implementing changes as needed.
Performing inspections, including providing technical support, identifying compliance issues, and providing corrective recommendations.
Coordinating activities between the Company and contractors, including assigning work, monitoring projects, and reviewing field dailies for accuracy.
Preparing and delivering reports to subordinates, peers, and/or management.
Presenting technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.

Position will require up to 95% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
