Enterprise Security Analyst II

The Enterprise Security Analyst II is an experienced professional with knowledge of and experience with enterprise and cyber security principles, practices, concepts, and theories. Responsible for implementing security measures to protect computer systems, data and networks. Additional responsibilities include testing, documenting, evaluating and remediating internal controls for the Cleco IT department for safety, effectiveness, and operational efficiency. The position requires collaboration with internal and external audit and examining teams, IT management, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance deliverables are met. Responsible for the completion of assigned processes or activities, requiring interpretation of enterprise security practices. Contributes to identifying improvements to enterprise security activities and procedures. Assists in the development and onboarding of entry-level employees with enterprise security responsibilities through coaching, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champions a corporate culture that emphasizes transparency, integrity, safety, environmental responsibility, employee development, diversity and inclusion, customer service, and operational excellence.

  • Utilizes enterprise/cyber security standards, procedures, and processes, providing recommendations for process improvements, as necessary.

  • Supports the escalation of any risk to delivery for enterprise security, to help ensure business objectives are executed and met across responsible project areas.

  • Escalate issues to management, as necessary.

  • Assist with implementation, monitoring, and managing advanced security technologies and other security related devices using log files, dashboards and other appropriate data sources to provide periodic management reporting and input to the improvement process

  • Works with security vendor to support Cleco’s IT security program to ensure the security initiatives limit Cleco’s vulnerabilities

  • Assist with maintaining the disaster recovery plan; assist in the company’s business continuity testing as part of the Cleco Cybersecurity team

  • Monitor the organization’s networks for security breaches and investigate a violation when one occurs. Perform comprehensive root cause analysis and present those findings.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the security standards and best practices for Cleco

  • Assist in developing and sustaining standard operating procedures for recovering from an attack

  • Maintain a working knowledge of network routing, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, internet filtering, anti-virus technology, application security, secure email gateways, and federal compliant environments.

  • Support senior project staff to provide their manager with technical project updates to Director level management on a regular basis to proactively support business objectives.


Required Education, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 3+ years of related experience

  • Experience in DLP and Data Classification

  • Business acumen pertaining to the Utility industry

  • Knowledge of leading practices for their practice area

  • Planning and project management skills

  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job

  • Proficient at functioning effectively within a team environment, present ideas and opinions in a respective and collegial manner

Licenses and Certifications

  • Professional security certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CRISC preferred
