This position pays between$113,920.00to$142,400.00and is based on skills, experience and education of the successful candidate.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Ensures proper procedures, manuals, and programs are implemented and maintained to comply with applicable federal and state pipeline safety regulations. Communicates federal and state pipeline safety regulation changes to applicable business units
Ensures that pipeline safety compliance exposures identified during quality assurance assessments are addressed by operations in a timely manner
Oversees and coordinates federal and state pipeline inspections/audits and incident investigations. Analyzes Pipeline Safety Bureau’s (PSB) inspection/audit results and incident investigation reports for Company-wide trends and/or possible fines or other regulatory action.
Directs the preparation of corrective processes or procedures and monitors progress on compliance directives made to address potential pipeline safety conditions
Prepares and presents testimony and/or comments on pipeline safety matters before the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission
Ensures all correspondence with the Pipeline Safety Bureau is consistent with the Company objectives, policies, and procedures
Maintains effective communication with federal and state regulators to ensure effective working relationships
Ensures state and federal annual pipeline safety reports are prepared and submitted on time
Manages implementation and maintenance of the Operational Management System (OMS), Damage Prevention and Reporting, Drug and Alcohol Plan for pipeline contractors, Engineering Hotline, Line Locating Program, Operation and Maintenance Manual, Operator Qualification Plan, and Public Awareness Plan, ensuring compliance with applicable federal and state pipeline safety regulations
Leads the development, implementation, and management of the Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS) Program.
Successful Candidate Must Have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management or Administration, Accounting, or Finance
7 years of experience performing the duties and responsibilities of this or a similar position
5 years of supervisory experience
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Preferred experience in project management theories, and with federal and state regulations, and experience directly related to compliance with 49 CFR part 192
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with frequent site visits to gas operation work locations; may be exposed to outside weather conditions during fieldwork. Travel by automobile throughout the NMGC service territories. Requires working overtime and weekends. Ability to sit up to 2/3 of the time and to stand, walk, and stoop up to 1/3 of the time. Good vision and ability to adjust focus is required. Manual dexterity is required. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
