Job Purpose
The successful candidate will manage a large portfolio of Distributed Generation (DG) projects throughout their lifecycle, engaging key stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of scope, cost, schedule and customer satisfaction. They will serve as a team lead for the DG portfolio across Upstate NY, ensuring process consistency and Program Management alignment across divisions. In addition, the candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert for the DG portfolio, serving as a primary point of contact for a multitude of stakeholder groups regarding the DG process, best practices and improvement initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
· Accurately maintain detailed project schedules monthly in Primavera P6 including project requirements, activity and milestone dates, resourcing, status, etc.
· Ensure compliance with National Grid’s financial governance policies and procedures including Delegation of Authority (sanctioning) and accruals
· Ensure compliance with regulatory and other mandatory targets
· Coordinate and lead training of DG Project Managers, ensuring streamlined adherence to best practices and providing guidance and oversight to team members
· Act as a subject matter expert for the DG portfolio, serving as a primary point of contact for a multitude of stakeholder groups regarding the DG process, best practices and improvement initiatives
· Prepare for and attend workplan and other stakeholder meetings
· Assemble project teams comprised of various project stakeholders and host project specific meetings to resolve risks or persistent issues
· Ensure timely completion of reports as required by the business
· Monitor performance against key performance indicators and adjust ways of working as necessary to achieve a high level of performance
· Challenge existing ways of working and facilitate improvements to company best practices to achieve the highest level of efficiency, performance and customer satisfaction
· Provide leadership and oversight to a large group of internal and external stakeholders, driving efficiency and effectiveness, key strategies and processes to successfully deliver fiscal year targets
· Identify and mitigate risks to the project delivery process including but not limited to permitting, logistical, material, resource, contractual and cost constraints
· Effectively support interfacing teams and company initiatives
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative, integrity and ability to interact with company personnel, contractors, regulatory representatives, and town/city officials in a positive collaborative manner.
Qualifications
· A Master’s degree in one of the below or related fields preferred
· A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following or related fields: Project Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management or Utility Operations
· 20+ years of experience in the utility industry with a minimum of 5 years of experience managing DG projects
· Supervisory experience preferred
· Demonstrate a high level of personal initiative, integrity, and ability to interact with stakeholders in a positive and collaborative manner to independently resolve conflicts and promote a culture of inclusivity
· In depth knowledge of National Grid’s business operations, systems/tools, company policies and procedures
· Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
· Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

Salary
$140,000 - $165,000 a year
