New York Power Authority Asset Maintenance Management Coordinator in Albany, New York

Summary

The Asset Maintenance Management Coordinator will facilitate and oversee implementation of an asset maintenance management process. The process will utilize a customized and simplified version of Maximo, an Enterprise Asset Management System. Once in place, this will facilitate an efficient work management process to reduce the significant backlog of necessary maintenance, compliance and rehabilitation of critical assets. Further, the process changes will begin producing an asset work history to enable establishing a more formal asset management program in the future. As a NYPA employee, the incumbent will work primarily in an advisory and consultative role to facilitate change management and oversee the success of the integration of the modified Maximo system and asset maintenance management practices.

Responsibilites

  • Learn [Maintain up-to-date knowledge of] the essential functions and configurations of Maximo.

  • Provide training for supervisory and clerical personnel in use of Maximo to generate work orders, assign work to individuals and crews and set expectations for that work.

  • Assist [Manage/Coordinate] the pilot Maximo implementations currently planned for Fonda and Syracuse (Lysander) Sections.

  • Assist in [Participate in/Coordinate] the roll-out of the new processes and the Maximo application to facilities.

  • Work with staff, as required, to create and enter Preventive Maintenance and Inspection requirements for infrastructure into Maximo as needed.

  • Work directly with supervisors and clerical personnel to advise and consult on the implementation of work order management concepts.

  • Assist in [Participate in/Coordinate ] the monitoring of results collected through the Maximo system.

  • Assist in [Participate in/Coordinate] the development of the longer-term strategy for expanding the functionality of Maximo.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong computer literacy, especially spreadsheet and word processing applications, and the ability to learn and grasp quickly new software solutions being introduced. Computer literacy in work order management system preferred.

  • Understanding of work management concepts including defining work, scheduling work and review of work completion.

  • Demonstrated competence in, and command of, performance, project and resource management.

  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with senior level executives, clerical staff and consultants in an advisory role.

  • Effective in coaching and giving feedback.

  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Results-driven, problem-solver and self-motivated.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

Education, Experience and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Certification(s) in relevant technical or management disciplines

  • Minimum of 5 experience

  • Project Management experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements

Approximately 25% travel primarily within NY State

Availability to attend meetings outside of normal business hours
