About the Opportunity
This is a position with First energy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [FEG]
Position will provide oversight of the enterprise-wide NERC operations and planning and CIP compliance programs, with a focus on the fossil side of the business. The candidate will maintain relationships with internal compliance directors, manage the compliance outsource service provider, and administer internal compliance programs. The role will leverage internal compliance directors accountable for supporting processes, policies and procedures in place to maintain NERC compliance. The position will collaborate with FE, third party, fossil and nuclear resources to stand up the FES compliance program based on legacy processes, policies and procedures to be "lifted and shifted" from FE to FES.
In addition to day-to-day compliance program oversight, this position will provide thought leadership to adapt new policies and procedures in support of new standards, liaise with stakeholders in preparation for audits, and foster a risk-averse culture that encourages assessing compliance, inquiring about potential gaps, and self-reporting issues.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing NERC-CIP compliance standards, strong relationships with Reliability First and/or other NERC regions, and deep power generation experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 8 years of experience in a related field
Leading implementation of the NERC Operations and Planning and CIP compliance programs, as well as understanding standards and reporting requirements
Strong interpersonal communications skills
Ability to develop and navigate relationships across all levels
Project and risk management skills
Proven ability to deliver presentations and communicate strategic initiatives to internal and external audiences
Leading and facilitating stakeholders to implement processes and procedures to adhere to compliance standards
Establish and achieve service level agreements with internal and external stakeholdersPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Compliance Analyst will be held accountable for:
Sustaining compliance with NERC Operations and Planning and CIP standards
Establishing and maintaining a proactive self-reporting, risk-averse culture in support of NERC-CIP standards
Supporting audit preparation and support activities with internal and external stakeholders
Managing outsourced service provider and commercial terms.
Delivering results and fostering employee engagement by capitalizing on diverse perspectives and talents of the whole team
Leading continuous improvement efforts and managing change
Establishing and managing performance metrics aligned with compliance standard
