About the Opportunity

This is an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

The Corporate Responsibility Analyst position will provide the selected individual exposure to business units and leaders across the company and engagement on forward thinking and strategic conversations - all in support of FirstEnergy’s Corporate Responsibility initiatives. The Corporate Responsibility team has the exciting role within the company of understanding external expectations on a variety of employee, environmental, social, and governance (EESG) topics, facilitating relevant conversations with our business units, and developing disclosures that can be shared with our internal and external stakeholders.

This position is considered “mobile” and can be based out of any location within the FirstEnergy Service territory (OH, PA, MD, WV and NJ).

Responsibilities include:

  • Benchmarking with FE’s peers

  • Researching of EESG topics

  • Working with subject matter experts (SMEs) across the company

  • Data collecting and reporting

  • Developing processes and efficiency improvements for reportingmeasuring/tracking performance

  • Creating power points

  • Creative and innovative thinking for opportunities to increase Corporate Responsibility activities

  • Willingness to be a champion of Corporate Responsibility

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, or related discipline is required

  • Minimum 2-7 years professional work experience is required. Relevant work experience includes financial analysis, accounting, economics, conducting research and working with data

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

  • Demonstrates a questioning attitude, and an ability and desire to think in a critical, strategic and innovative manner

  • Possess a sound knowledge of basic researching techniques

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, including problem solving and decision making

  • Ability to deliver quality, accurate results within established deadlines

  • Strong IT skills desirable (i.e., database and website management), but not required
