Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function) The corporate trainer will participate in the design of overall organizational strategy for training and professional development programs and develop, deliver and administer those programs. Typical Duties Collaborate with management to identify company training needs. Analyze business needs and actual performance, identify performance gaps and determines root causes (including skill and knowledge deficiencies) with managers and teams. Conduct organizational needs analysis as necessary. Strategize with managers and supervisors to implement development initiatives in response to changing internal and external conditions. Design training for internal audiences using appropriate adult learning principles, delivery strategies and project management methods, according to desired performance outcomes and learner needs. Plan, develop, and deliver training on a variety of subject matter, including professional skills, leadership, technology, processes and business competencies. Partner with third-party vendors to incorporate and/or customize their materials where appropriate. Schedule appropriate training sessions and prepare training materials such as facilitator and participant guides, handouts, videos, and presentations. Adhere to style guidelines and design standards that provide a consistent framework for the development of training materials. Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content for delivery across multiple platforms (in person, virtual and digital). Coordinate logistics and facilitate delivery of seminars, workshops, training sessions and individual coaching. Deliver training to multiple levels of employees and leaders such as individual contributors, supervisors, managers, directors and vice presidents. Work in a team setting to assess needs and ways to implement a blended learning environment and to design, develop and implement company-wide and business specific curriculums. Collaborate on the design, development and implementation of talent management initiatives that meet the current and future leadership development needs of the organization. Evaluate the results of learning, determine effectiveness and implement appropriate alternatives. Work with business leaders on strategies for continuous improvement and future use of development resources. Administer learning management system records and reports related to training delivery. Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Bachelor's degree in organization development, organizational behavior, human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, business or related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically, six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree). Five years of experience in organizational development or internal/external consulting position with success in leadership development, corporate training, and talent management. Master's degree preferred. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or similar certification a plus. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Preference given to candidates who have expertise in leadership development, team-building, mentoring and conflict resolution. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
