Job Description

Be a part of the renewable energy (R)evolution! The Manager of Learning and Development is an integral part of the talent development team responsible for implementing a comprehensive learning strategy and building a culture of continuous learning. The L & D Manager will work closely with HR and organizational leaders to understand the leadership and talent development needs of the business to build and deliver innovative solutions.

  • Develop and deliver engaging development programs, compelling course content and programs that increase job knowledge, develop skills, and influence behavior and communication

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to both define learning outcomes relative to business goals as well as define and measure what success looks like

  • Conduct thorough needs analyses to uncover organizational needs and recommend education experiences

  • Evaluation of existing learning experiences and recommend updates to align with company strategy

  • Leverage innovative instructional design methods to create engaging, outcomes-driven, and provocative learning experiences

  • Manage and assist with the development and delivery of all training and development curriculum for non-represented (non-union) employees to meet professional and organizational needs

  • Redesigning, customizing, and enhancing existing programs to build managerial and employee skills and competencies

  • Establish workforce analytics to identify and analyze operational challenges related to workforce development and engagement. Create solutions consistent with business realities

  • Develop, maintain, and oversee vendor relationships including logistics, content development, delivery, and e-technology

  • Provide one-on-one coaching for executives on performance management, employee development, and mentoring

Required Skills

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources or other field is required

  • An MBA or Master's Degree in Human Resources Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field is preferred

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Learning, Talent or Organizational development implementing employee learning and talent development programs.

Required Experience

  • Proven ability to effectively design and develop organizational learning and development strategies that enables and support the business’ strategic vision.

  • Ability to facilitate senior level meetings and counsel business leaders on human capital and development topics is required

  • Balance attention to detail with swift execution

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and leadership within and outside the authority is required

  • Organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a rapidly changing environment with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management.

  • Demonstrated capability as a project manager, delivering on complex employee development and learning programs

  • Strong problem-solving, organization, persuasion, and negotiation skills are required

  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills are required

  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access (database) are required

  • Familiarity with electric utility industry and the industry-wide challenges that impact human capital is preferred
