Exelon Nuclear is looking for an Outage Planning and Services Training Specialist to join our corporate group at our Midwest Headquarters in Warrenville, IL.

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Provides support as required in connection with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of training related activities. Provides governance and oversight of the Outage Planning and Services training programs and their implementation. Provides support in the development of the department budget, business planning activities, improvement plans and the successful implementation of each. Provides instructional services when required.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support oversight activities as directed by the Manager Programs/HU to include: the accountability to critically monitor, assess, and evaluate the conduct of training activities and instructor/worker performance. This includes the participation in assigned training MRMs, CRCs, training working groups and in-plant observations of work being performed by site personnel addressing gaps between current performance and governance standards.

  • Support governance activities as directed by the Manager Programs/HU to assigned disciplines including, the accountability to support the establishment of policies, programs, and processes that create the boundaries that guide the development of methods and procedures to achieve outcomes assigned to that function

  • Helps to ensure consistency across the fleet in training program management. Performs corrective action and learning programs duties for the corporate organization and provides oversight for the fleet.

  • Supports performance activities as directed by the Manager Programs/HU to include: the accountability to assist or develop plans, schedules, scope, detailed implementing procedures, related administrative and management information systems, and to implement those plans to deliver the work products of the function.

  • Coordinates, maintains, and supports all aspects of department training administration and computer-based systems. Supports station and fleet activities in the areas of business plan initiatives, project management, EP duties and special projects.

  • Provides instruction/training to end-user personnel as required. Coordinates procedure revision process for the department. Assures the training facilities, equipment, material, records, and personnel qualifications support the training programs

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  • Associates degree in science/engineering or education/training

-8 years of related experience / technical background in respective discipline

-3 years of instructional experience

  • Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT)

  • Effective written and oral communication skills

Preferred:

  • Bachelors degree in science/engineering or education/training

-8 years of related experience / technical background in respective discipline

-5 years of instructional experience

  • Experience with INPO accreditation or evaluation teams, benchmarking and peer assessments

  • Provides functional supervision to clerical support staff related to training administrative systems. Provides process guidelines for information management and consulting services to users.

  • Assists in establishing department goals, training strategies, and cost estimates that result in budgeted activities for the assigned area.

  • Provides support for materials/media selection for assigned programs/courses. Indirectly influences significant financial impacts due to quality, duration, and content of training programs.

  • May Involves periodic travel to the east and west Exelon nuclear facilities.
