_About the Position:_

The Vice President of Integrated Planning, Forecasting and Inventory Management will lead the integration of all planning, material acquisition (stock and non-Stock), inventory management activities, and services acquisition, collaboratively working with Resource planning, Procurement, Operations planning and capital planning to develop and maintain a comprehensive, robust, and efficient strategy to achieve both fill rate, inventory turn objectives and construction services capacity across National Grid’s Gas and Electric infrastructure. The VP of Integrated Planning, Forecasting and Inventory Management is expected to create value by anticipating issues and identifying opportunities, and by providing critical information, forecasts and analysis, resulting in optimal inventory management and optimized synchronized execution of the work and project plans for the Company.

_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_

  • Develop the annual business plans to continually improve inventory performance, demand planning accuracy, and supply chain reliability.

  • Provide work plan execution and inventory analysis and forecasts for use in managing related risks and opportunities and for use in the business and financial planning of the Company. Develop early warning indicators to highlight the likelihood of future deviations from the plan.

  • Provide direction for procurement, logistics, warehouse management and other supply chain enabling functions to optimize support to meet the plan.

  • Assess and improve forecasting of demand generated by both the capital and work plans, identifying gaps between the forecasts and business plans. Provide feedback to the various functional planning organizations on the accuracy of their predictions and identify mechanisms to increase forecast robustness and resiliency.

  • Develop inventory targets and strategies, collaborating with the rest of the business as well as third party providers to optimize inventory turns while maintaining high fill rates. Maintain projections of future inventory levels and effectively total inventory to corporate balance sheet projections.

  • Manage the relationship, inventory goals, and service levels for third-party suppliers. Plan and deliver the expected supply chain performance to deliver required ROE targets by business.

  • Jointly with procurement, strengthen relationships with key suppliers to extend supply chain efficiency upstream to National Grids supply base. Identify and implement initiatives to shorten lead times and improve delivery performance and overall efficiencies.

  • Develop and manage capacity plans for each key vendor, assessing actual performance against the planned output. Develop and implement tools, reports, and systems to measure and manage vendor delivery performance.

  • Other responsibilities as directed.

_Knowledge & Experience Required:_

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline and 10 years managerial experience in a progressively responsible strategic procurement, inventory management or demand planning role, or equivalent combination of training and experience. Strong preference for experience in the automotive, consumer and/or retail industries.

  • Global Supply Chain leadership responsibilities with in-depth experience of managing inventory levels to both expected financial and service goals, working with suppliers of goods and services, and development and implementation of supply chain performance metrics.

  • Strong understanding of forecasting, capacity planning, scheduling, and Sales & Operations Planning processes is critical.

  • Ability to be a strategic and tactical leader who is comfortable establishing, communicating, and “hands on” implementing the vision and deliverables.

  • Ability to develop and lead a team of professionals, distributing decision making while still monitoring overall effectiveness of the individuals and the organization.

  • Strong business and commercial acumen combined with outstanding negotiation/influencing expertise, strong analytical ability to identify and exploit key opportunities, and highly developed communication skills.

  • Excellent project management and communication skills with the ability to work across all functions and levels of an organisation

  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret complex information and analyze relationships among several parts of a problem or situation in order to clearly articulate the findings and anticipates obstacles and thinks ahead about next steps.

  • Highly proficient in stakeholder management and communications, making self fully available for the customer/supplier. Demonstrates an energetic and enthusiastic manner and the ability to add value.

  • Requires the ability to think from first principles and demonstrates ability to challenge processes and use knowledge or trends to look at current situations.
