New Jersey Resources is seeking a Sr. Business Applications Analyst to provide operational/production support for all enterprise applications such as IBM Maximo, ArcGIS, ITRON, Power Spring and Oracle.

Serve as the liaison between business team and IT leads to define and develop business requirements and functional specifications for proposed system modifications and enhancements. Contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications, providing specialized technical or business knowledge to applicable projects.

Help formulate and define BI strategies that align with the company's technology and product roadmap goals. Contribute to triaging of ServiceNow service requests that come in for Application Development team and ensure they get assigned to the appropriate resource. Coordinate with CyberSecurity to ensure application roles and responsibilities are defined and maintained for IT contractors.

Major Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development of requirements and management of projects associated with various systems including the coordination of vendors, team members, other in-house developers, and contractors.

• Work closely with 3rd party contractors and vendors to ensure they’re following NJR application standards and best practices.

• Monitor customer support requests related to software applications that are submitted through the Help Desk and address these requests based on impact to the organizational mission and operations.

• Keep senior management informed of all technical issues that adversely impact key business systems or processes.

• Drive and address any critical production issues while balancing new project delivery.

• Participate in day-to-day operations as troubleshooting problems arising from regular use, production support, and maintaining the application platforms.

• Participate in designs, tests, and debugging of application interfaces with other systems.

• Work collaboratively with all IT functional areas, project and legacy architects and business team to proactively identify and mitigate risk, resolve production issues and improve system performance and availability.

• Provide recommendation for technology optimization/tuning.

• Drive and perform products/new technologies/solutions proof of concept and evaluation.

• Understand and support other NJR systems integrating with Maximo (such as SAP C4C, Oracle ERP, IFS and SAP- ISU)

• Collaborate with MDM (Master Data Management) team to ensure data integrity.

• Engage in the preparation and execution of IBM Maximo work in all phases of the Operations support lifecycle including planning, configuration, administration, development, and maintenance in a business-critical environment.

• Recreate steps taken by the user to locate source problem and adjust the program to manage conditions.

• Oversee application deployments and change control processes including the final production acceptance review and signoff and manage the issue resolution process for any application production problems.

• Diagnose and debug production incidents and contribute to root cause analysis and proactive improvements as needed.

• Lead reporting efforts by gathering data and presentation requirements (e.g., standard reports, dashboards, and metrics).

• Assist in prioritizing system change requests through meetings with end users and monitor programming development to ensure that implementation timeframes are met.

• Analyze data and/or test application software, interface(s), data conversions and ad hoc report writing.

• Develop functional specifications.

• Liaison with developers and other technical IT staff and contractors providing requirements and specifications and ensuring they are met.

• System Administrator for internal applications such as Itron FCS, Power Spring.

Position Specifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training

• Minimum of four years of experience in IT business systems analysis in a large-scale environment across multiple hardware and software platforms, or business unit experience that includes working closely with IT in the development and implementation of large-scale systems

• Experience with IBM Maximo, Itron, Power Spring applications and Nuance IVR desirable

• Experience in data analysis and business intelligence including familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableaus, Oracle BI, BIRT)

• Knowledge of project management methodology and proven experience handling multiple deliverables

• Knowledge of the Utility processes a plus

• Knowledge of IT best practices in Change Control, Release planning and release migrations

• Good knowledge of SDLC processes and tools such as DevOps, and Agile or SCRUM processes
