This position will support training design and development for the Grid Solutions organization. Employees at this level manage work with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in use of training design and development concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions and take actions to resolve. This position will work closely with the Business Process Improvement and Change Management teams to meet critical project/program deadlines.

The Sr. Instructional Designer will support the design and development of technical training materials. This will include design and development of instructor-led training support materials for core project and program offerings by building in-house or partnering with vendors; creating and executing on training plans with blended learning solutions by leveraging existing learning resources or by designing/developing new content. Job Duties and Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for the entire training development cycle end-to-end, including needs assessment to evaluation Develop and deliver on training plans Lead project teams to define and manage deliverables Partner with subject matter experts and other key stakeholders to identify learning needs, measurable objectives, and desired outcomes; design/develop and recommend learning solutions to support business needs Able to develop complex, blended curricula using various delivery mediums that consider pre and post activities to ensure learning is continuous, effective and applied, with metrics to quantify impact Develop various content and blended learning solutions which may include: scenarios, simulations, knowledge checks, mobile learning, evaluations, facilitator/participant guides, presentation decks, toolkits, podcast, articles, action plans, job aids, role plays, videos, games, books, case studies, tests, etc. Create solutions that are engaging, creative, and interactive and offer high quality visual design (interactions, animations, visual aspects, flow that appeals to learners, etc.) Ensure training content is clear, accurate, consistent, of high quality and maintains the instructional integrity of learning and sound instructional principles Act as a content curator; ensuring learning content is up to date, easily accessible, applicable and in a format that appeals to learners Ensure all content and curricula map to organizational competencies and are aligned to business unit Perform detailed testing for all learning solutions for instructional soundness, interactive design, and functionality Facilitate a walk-through of course content to ensure smooth hand-off to Delivery Team Evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make revisions accordingly Stay current in learning and design trends and advancements to recommend innovative learning solutions; and research, evaluate, test, and recommend new learning solutions and technology Understand social and mobile learning and the impact to the learning process, incorporate into programs. Partner with IT and team to ensure a friendly end-user experience for engaging design and functionality Partner with Business Process Improvement and Change Management teams to meet customer needs Work with third party partners to translate learning needs into content Serve as an SME and teacher to other L&D training specialists to help and develop technical content development skill. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree Six (6) plus years of relevant experience in learning and development Three (3) plus years of experience using Authoring Tools (Articulate Storyline and/or Adobe Captivate), Learning Management Systems (SumTotal), SCORM compliant architecture, Instructional Development Tools, or similar tools Five (5) to seven (7) years of instructional design, project management, and training experience - designing/developing content for soft skill and leadership development curriculum Desired Qualifications

Previous experience in supporting Grid Solutions technical projects and programs specific to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) Ability to develop complex, blended curricula using various delivery mediums that consider pre and post activities to ensure learning is continuous, effective and applied, with metrics to quantify impact Advanced design capability in video development to support quick learning bites Experience developing complex technical training curricula and content Experience developing various content and blended learning solutions including: scenarios, simulations, knowledge checks, mobile learning, evaluations, facilitator/participant guides, presentation decks, toolkits, podcasts, articles, action plans, job aids, videos, games, case studies, etc. for soft skill and leadership development curricula Experience in managing complex/multi-tier projects and programs using strong Project Management Skills Balance of both creative and technical design expertise in a corporate environment Experience applying learning theories to design, develop, and publish learning content; demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles and best practice solutions for corporate learning programs Knowledge of a systematic approach to designing/developing training products and services in a corporate environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be innovative, results/detail oriented, and collaborative Able to manage multiple projects and programs with competing deadlines and is quality focused Excellent planning, documentation and organization skills; strong attention to detail and high standards of quality; strong commitment to continuous improvement Results driven, self-starter, and open to change Outstanding time management and organizational skills Must be able to adapt to several roles: training, consulting, facilitating, and collaborating up, down, and across the organization Job: Operations
