The Sr Analyst, Operations Reporting supports a larger O&M team and serves as the subject matter expert for the NERC GADS Performance, Reliability, and Event reporting dataset and all of its inputs. Given AES Clean Energy’s rapidly increasing scale, this role will serve to identify improvements to existing processes aimed at identifying efficiencies to meet the growing demand for reporting on NERC GADS assets over 20 MW AC in 2025. Excellent communication, task management and planning skills needed, in addition to being meticulous and data savvy.

  

This position will be remote. It may include up to 5% travel to partner offices and project locations.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

  • Collect, analyze, and validate data related to Solar and Battery (BESS) assets for NERC GADS and Standards reporting

  • Prepare and submittimely and accurate NERC reports to regulatory authorities

  • Maintain documentation related to NERC reporting, including asset details, performance metrics, and outage information

  • Configure tools and build new analyticsor models to flag NERC Standard criteria for reporting

  • Monitor changes in NERC requirements and update reporting processes accordingly

  • Investigate discrepancies or anomalies in reported data and take corrective actions as needed

  • Participate in audits and inspections related to NERC reporting

  • Stay informed about industry best practices and trends related to NERC reporting

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including theO&M Engineering team, to gather necessary data and ensure completeness of reporting

  • Share insights on asset performance and reliability with O&M Stakeholders

  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on NERC reporting requirements

  • Support ongoing data quality initiatives pertaining to NERC reporting with the broader O&M Analytics team

Growth and Leadership

  • Participate in AES CE’s growth planning process by contributing to process improvement task forces and other strategic planning activities

  • Improve and develop processes for using data to ensure the operation of safe, quality and high-performance projects

  • Willingness to continue to learn and grow your skills, constantly evaluating how AES CE operations can be improved

Skills and Qualifications

Primary Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent

  • Experience 2-5 years working in NERC GADS reporting or a similar role

  • Strong understanding of NERC standards, specifically related to GADS reporting

  • Strong attention to detail and desire to deliver high quality data and report

  • Moderate-to-advancedproficiencywith Excel

  • Ability to work effectively with other Microsoft programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High degree of commitment to a quality safety culture and an incident-free work environment

  • Personal values consistent with those of the AES Corporation; Safety, Integrity, Excellence, Agility and Fun

“Plus” Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Solar and Battery (BESS) assets and their operational characteristics

  • Familiarity with utility-scale renewable energy projects

  • NERC certification (e.g. NERC Certified System Operator)

  • Experience writing SQL queries

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Big Query, or other cloud computing platforms

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $75,000 and $97,750/Annual; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements such as annual bonus, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, life, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
