JOB SUMMARY:

Scope of Work - Main duties, settings, geography, reporting relationships, other relationships:

The Tax Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership and expertise on all tax related issues while ensuring compliance with all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations pertaining to income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, payroll tax, and gross earnings tax. Lead and develop staff, providing training opportunities, and personal development.

Requirements

Major Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Review or prepare income, property, sales and use tax provisions, account reconciliations, related tax disclosures and supporting schedules.

  • Manage Tax Accounting Team

  • Support Sarbanes Oxley compliance efforts and respond to internal and external auditor requests.

  • Preparation of all Federal and State income tax, monthly sales and use tax and gross earnings tax returns, as well as property tax filings/payments.

  • Negotiate settlements with taxing authorities.

  • Maintain tax accounting and reporting standards knowledge, both US GAAP and IFRS.

  • Oversee and maintain tax software system modules.

  • Prepare required tax depreciation calculations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree with 7 years relevant experience required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance or related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of staff management experience.

  • Expert Knowledge of SEC Tax Reporting Requirements.

  • Expert Knowledge of Income Tax Accounting Requirements Under GAAP.

  • Strong Tax Technical Writing Skills.

  • Strong Computer Skills.

  • Understanding of GAAP Tax Accounting and Reporting.
