Job Summary:

Responsible for making our #1 critical success factor, safety first, a priority in all tasks and activities performed by self and all others involved. Schedule, coordinate and supervise craft employee activities for Loy Clark Pipeline’s Civil Underground Electrical Division. This position will involve supervising multiple trade groups (Foreman, equipment operators, laborers, groundmen, subcontractors etc.) working for our underground civil electrical division.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Must be experienced with civil underground construction and have the skill sets to be involved with site visits, construction plans study/understanding, quantity take off, estimate development, scope of work development, initial proposal development and client interaction. 2. Must be experienced with deep pit excavation techniques and the various shoring systems associated with this type of construction. 3. Must be experienced with large duct bank trench excavation/installation techniques and the various shoring systems associated with this type of construction. 4. Plan and supervise crew activities including methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked. 5. Coordinate assigned work with work of different crafts, company departments, or other contractors. 6. Maintain liaison with the client’s engineering department, in-house estimating, and municipality planning to ensure work complies with drawings, specifications and schedule. 7. Assist in resolving construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) as required. 8. Assist with Client interactions with budgets, estimates, future work, current projects, change orders and onsite meetings as requested. 9. Assist Labor Relations Department in maintaining communications with unions, resolving jurisdictional disputes, requisitioning required manpower, etc., as necessary. 10. Monitor crew compliance with LCP’s safety program requirements; document and ensure corrective measures are implemented. 11. Maintain liaison with other departments (i.e. Purchasing, Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.. 12. This position is required to drive. 13. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience. Minimum of four years supervisory experience in similar underground civil construction technology, methods, equipment, tooling, and work procedures in electrical and/or communication, fiber optic, or water works underground construction is required. Reference items 1, 2 and 3 of the Major Responsibility section for specific requirements for this position. Must have safe driving record and a valid driver’s license according to legal requirements.

Key Skills & Competencies

Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and ability to control and supervise large groups is essential. Must be familiar with and have capable computer skills to perform many of the above described duties. LCP is at will to provide advancement training in this area if necessary.
