National Grid Manager, Commercial & Industrial Program Execution in Syracuse, New York

_About the Position:_

To lead and oversee the performance of the commercial & industrial (C&I) energy programs (energy efficiency and other programs and services for C&I customers), in partnership with relevant internal teams, in order to achieve desired results within the program budgets, delivering on expectations and delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction.


_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_

  • Establish annual goal targets in collaboration with NY Strategic Business Policy and Evaluation, (“Strategy”), Commercial Sales; Channel Sales; and with the goal owning Vendor Programs that achieve the targets committed by the Company to the Regulators.

  • Establish annual Marketing and Lead generation targets in collaboration with Customer Engagement , Data Analytics, and Account Development that supports the budgets and achieves needed opportunity levels to meet annual goals.

  • Conduct Monthly Program Reviews inclusive of key stakeholders including Strategy, Sales, Marketing; and EE Support functions that review program standings, forecasts, key process metrics, gaps, and improvement/gap closer action plans.

  • Provide Monthly reporting that specifies forecasts, gap closure plans and accountabilities with dates and activities.

  • Complete a Quarterly Review on programs with other Regional Counterparts on processes and best practices to assure continuous alignment of Program Management efforts with an emphasis on identifying and sharing best practices.

  • Monitor and control allocated human and material resources, maintaining financial and results progress forecasting in order to ensure Electric and Gas programs are delivered according to schedule, within budget and aligned with commitments by Jurisdiction.

  • Manage operational process activities, including performance indicators, in order to achieve high productivity, low costs and efficient work practices, program commitments and to ensure compliance with National Grid policies and procedures.

  • Work with relevant business units to translate program objectives into well-defined requirements with clearly defined business cases in order to support change and innovation within National Grid.

  • Assess new program design and participation potential in order to support planning efforts, including efforts undertaken by Strategy and New Energy Solutions and with a focus on securing regulatory approval for efforts.

  • Communicate program performance data and collaborate with Marketing and Sales in order to support the implementation of change.

  • Translate functional policy into processes and procedures that drive greater efficiencies for National Grid and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and governance and to gain approval for proposed programs and services with regulators.

  • -Keep internal and external stakeholders up-to-date and informed on progress against performance indicators in order to ensure they are managed appropriately and in line with requirements.

  • Lead, motivate and develop a professional team, prioritize work and allocate resources in order to ensure savings and budget results are delivered in line with expectations and customer/business objectives.

  • Oversee Sales Processing efforts by providing management oversight to the Supervisor of Sales Processing.

*Knowledge & Experience Required:*

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Finance, Marketing or Energy/Business Management and 7 plus years of direct Energy Efficiency experience. Management experience preferred.

  • Good understanding of key business drivers and external commercial environment

  • Experience of leading, inspiring and motivating an operational team.

  • Proven influencing skills, able to influence at senior level, internally and externally.

  • Ability to conduct meetings or lead group discussions.

  • Ability to identify and coordinate resources as needed.

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.

  • Must possess understanding of business, finance, engineering and technical concepts.
