National Grid Analyst - Electric Project Controls in Syracuse, New York
_About the Position:_
Provide analytical support functions and be a part of a professional team responsible for analyzing data and activities to provide relevant and up-to-date information to support decision-making. As an Analyst in our Project Controls group within the Electric Portfolio and Work Order Controls team, you will also track financial forecasts, initiate reports for senior management and jurisdictional reviews, and update project status for Electric Operations. At a higher level, this role will design and implement policies and procedures within their area of work to improve National Grid.
_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):_
Proactively research, produce, monitor and analyze cost, policy or other information to enable analysis of key themes and trends.
Manage key external relationships with respect to any data provided for business decision making.
Drive adherence to the monthly forecast cycle with external stakeholders.
Develop process and policy specifications and criteria and options; evaluate those options to support senior management decision-making.
Research and analyze key themes from a wide range of data sources in order to identify how different scenarios may impact the business.
Translate business objectives into clearly defined business cases, annual plans and objectives in order to support achievement of departmental/operational area.
Contribute to the identification and formulation of strategic objectives specific to area of work/business unit, in order to drive change and innovation within National Grid.
Develop and utilize peer group network of Program and Project Managers in order to absorb and apply technical/professional best practice within own area of specialism.
Monitor and control allocated resources, maintaining financial and progress forecasting in order to ensure projects are delivered according to schedule and within budget.
Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within assigned area.
_Knowledge and Experience Required:_
Bachelor's degree in Business/Finance is desired with 5 years of relevant experience.
Experience working in and leading a team is a plus.
Knowledge of current trends within the industry and developments in legislation or regulation is a plus.
Excellent proficiency in relevant software e.g. Microsoft Office products Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access; Business Intelligence and/or Business Objects.
Primavera, PowerPlant, and SAP experience is a plus.
