Location: Stockton, California


This positions primary responsibility is to provide fuel to the boiler; as well as being responsible for all of the equipment, fuel and machinery. Work is performed under direct supervision with results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager, but will also take daily direction from the Fuel Lead O/M Technician and the Fuel Yard Supervisor.


  • Operates loaders and blends wood to create boiler fuel

  • Operates scale house and unloads trucks

  • Services loaders daily before shift change and completes shift logs

  • Inspects conveyer systems daily

  • Performs on PM’s in yard

  • Assists O&M Tech I, III and IV as necessary

  • Daily Quality Control

  • Take pile temperatures

  • Complies with all site safety requirements and procedures

  • Identifies safety hazards and takes corrective actions as necessary

  • Communicate well with other company personnel

  • Responds to abnormal and emergency operating situations in a safe and reasonable manner

  • Performs all other related duties as assigned


  • Responsible for the on-shift operation of the Power Plant water treatment facility in accordance with OSHA standards and written Company Policy.

  • Continuously monitors water plant systems and equipment making adjustments as necessary to ensure safe efficient operation and produce water that is within established quality standards. Recognizes abnormal conditions and take proper corrective actions.

  • Collects, tabulates and evaluates equipment operating data to identify potential problems. Resolves problems if possible. Reports evaluations, actions and/or recommendations to the Lead O&M Technician and/or the Operations Manager.

  • Performs required water chemistry tests at various points throughout the water plant. Adds the correct dose of chemicals to maintain water chemistry test results in proper limits.

  • When required, unloads bulk caustic soda and sulfuric acid tanker trucks into plant storage tanks.

  • Adjusts feed rates on various chemical feed metering pumps to maintain chemical parameters of the water treatment process.

  • Starts up, operates and shuts down Water Treatment systems as required to meet plant needs.


A high school diploma or GED is required. Training on mobile heavy equipment, loaders, trucks and welding, experience in maintenance is preferred to provide for the following:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.

  • Ability to read and write effectively in English and do basic mathematics.

  • Background in operating loaders; maintenance; past experience doing shift work.

  • Must possess the knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently.

  • Knowledge of plant safety, policies and procedures, especially in areas such as chemical handling, high-energy systems, confined spaces, incipient fire suppression, first aid, rotating machinery, and heavy equipment.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, management and the general public.

  • Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to call-ins when contacted.
