Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Under direction of the Manager of System Control Services, System Control Coordinators and System Control Supervisors, provides a variety of professional analytical and administrative duties in support of assigned functions, operations and programs. Supports various administrative operations and activities including special projects, research and other specialized functions. Prepares various reports to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of System Control and coordinates assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies. Performs a variety of technical support functions supporting System Control and management personnel. Maintains departmental records and filing systems and conducts special projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs a wide variety of research, administrative, and accounting duties in support of assigned functions, operations, programs, department, and/or division. Performs duties in support of various administrative operations and activities within assigned area of responsibility, including special projects, research and other specialized projects. Performs highly skilled administrative or technical support to System Control and management personnel. Maintains and enforces all aspects of security and confidentiality of records and information.

  • Provides assistance to management and participates on and provides staff support to committees, prepares and presents staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary.

  • Coordinates and collaborates with departments, divisions and outside agencies; provides information and serves as a resource. Supports the relationship between System Control and other Hoosier Energy departments, as well as interconnected utilities, the Midcontinent ISO (MISO) and outside accounts by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior.

  • Attends and participates in professional group meetings, stays abreast of new developments within assigned area of responsibility, and maintains awareness of federal, state and local regulations.

  • Responds to inquiries in a courteous manner, provides information within the area of assignment, and resolves complaints in an efficient and timely manner.

  • Complies, summarizes and analyzes Interchange and Generation data, and prepares and files reports.

  • Performs daily and monthly energy and demand validation checkouts with generating stations, interconnected utilities and the Midcontinent ISO (MISO).

  • Collects, images, files and maintains all System Control Center reports in both paper and electronic filing systems. Maintains operating procedure manuals, administrative bulletins and other reference manuals within the System Control Center.

  • Makes suggestions to Manager System Control Services, System Control Coordinators or other staff members about any policies, practices or procedures that will facilitate work efficiencies or cost improvements.

  • Oversees emergency response procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

JOBSPECIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred

Experience:

  • 5 years progressive office, administrative, secretarial and word processing experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Intermediate or advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, database experience preferred

  • Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels and work as part of a team

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • High level of confidentiality required

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying scopes and timelines

  • Proficient in the operation of basic office equipment

  • Ability to manage stress

  • Notary preferred or ability to obtain

  • Knowledge of System Control Operations, policies and procedures
