San Diego Gas & Electric Gas & Shop Certified Welder in San Diego, California
Job Description: Welding on structural and pressure piping applications, manufacturing and repairing of tools and equipment used in Gas and Electric construction and maintenance projects; welding on de-energized and energized pipe in applications that include diameters from 3/4” through 36”, with working pressures ranging from 1/4 PSI through 800 PSI; handles routine and emergency work at Compressor stations, Fleet Operations, Electric Transmission, Kearny, and District Operating Centers, as well as other projects located throughout the Company.
- Must have good safety habits.
- Must have demonstrated ability to absorb formal schooling and training.
- Must be physically and mentally able to perform welding work.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
Must have a good attendance record. External Qualifications:
Must have one year experience as a journeyman qualified welder with API welder qualifications in OFS, SMAW.
Successful applicants will be required to qualify in the following welding techniques once in the position: Brazing, GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW to include API and AWS and ASME qualifications.
