Position will be for the Bartow Combined Cycle Station in Saint Petersburg, Florida. The Supervisor, Maintenance (MTS) is responsible for committing to and executing work plans, work schedules, and providing oversight to the work assigned to your direct reports. Safety, environmental compliance, productivity and quality are all critical responsibilities of the position. Incumbent is responsible for identifying and addressing barriers in the workplace, and adhering to and practicing all aspects of the Duke Energy work management program. This position will provide effective leadership and supervision for all assigned maintenance and/or facility activities, equipment maintenance, preventive maintenance, craft training, contract administration, and human performance development of the maintenance team at the Bartow Combined Cycle Plant, located outside in St. Petersburg, Florida. The incumbent will ensure crew compliance with Duke Energy, OSHA, safety and environmental guidelines; will be responsible for maintaining good housekeeping at the plant; will manage budget expenditures and projections and understand budgeting and project submittal processes; will act as Designated Representative for contractors and provide contractor work, safety, and budgeting oversight. Supervising personnel will be the primary role and responsibility for the position. Additional duties based on needs of the plant will include work management services, optimizing equipment health, site leadership on assignments as needed, and Capital/O&M project initiation and development. The incumbent will be available on-call for unusual events and emergencies at all times. May work long hours when required to maintain plant availability. The position may require night shift assignments and off-system travel may be required. Environment, physical and other requirements of the job: • Performs work in a power plant and an office environment; required to observe work in all areas of generating facilities which are power plant, industrial environments operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, which includes exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust and humidity. May be required to climb ladders and stairs at various heights; enter vessels or equipment with limited access; walk, stoop, bend or squat. • Must be able to read, comprehend, inspect, calculate, count, retain and make sound decisions. Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, use and reach with hands, arms and fingers. There is potential exposure to high stress situations and requirement to be available for emergency response as required by the needs of service. Qualifications: Basic/Required Qualifications Associate Degree from an accredited university or college and 3 years power plant, or industrial experience; or, in lieu of the degree a minimum of 7 years power plant, or industrial experience Working knowledge of the overall operating fundamentals and principles of power generation station systems, equipment and processes Desired Qualifications • Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited university or college • Computer skills including experience with various applications such as Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), work management systems (e.g., Maximo) • General maintenance and work management process experience • Financial knowledge and skills including ability to analyze data • 3 years of previous supervisor experience • 5-7 years of plant maintenance experience (e.g. MCC, Automation Control, Pumps, Valves, Gearboxes, Piping Systems, etc.) Job: Fossil, Hydro and Renewable Generation
