Regional Business Development Manager

While this position is based out of Sacramento, CA, it will require weekly, overnight travel, both air and vehicle, to tradeshows, industry events, client meetings, project sites and other required travel as assigned. This position will be responsible for identifying new opportunities by developing relationships with existing and prospective customers.

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote all facets and capabilities of Michels throughout their respective region, and keep abreast of emerging technologies.

  • Develop and nurture relationships with government agencies, consultants, contractors, and the private sector to promote and secure contracts for Michels.

  • Promote Core Values, leads by example, and is an ambassador for Michels.

  • Identify new opportunities utilizing network connections and market research.

  • Identify and attend industry conferences and trade shows to engage with existing and prospective customers, identify emerging technologies, and promote the Michels brand.

  • Review bid specifications and plans for adherence to client requirements.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Business Development Manager, Business Development Team and Divisional Business Development contact.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in related field and/or a minimum of three years of related project management, marketing and/or business development work related experience with a proven track record of success. Prior knowledge of construction industry, particularly utility and/or infrastructure construction. Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects at one time, possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions, and manage tight deadlines. Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management and be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
