Southern California Edison Senior Engineer (ENG4) in Rosemead, California

This position will be in the Engineering Project Management (EPM) group of SCE’s Engineering Services organization, under Customer Programs & Services (“CP&S”) division. EPM supports multiple work areas and disciplines, including technical project management, technical review and oversight of projects in support of Local Capacity Requirement (LCR) RFOs, Customized Energy Efficiency (EE) programs area, CP&S departmental goals, communication of goals and status to key stakeholders, management of vendors and tracking their expenses, and customized project tracking/reporting activities
Coordinating the technical reviews of projects submitted under SCE’s LCR RFOs, customized projects and DSM projects, including EE, DR and Codes & Standards (C&S) areas.
Work closely with LCR Sellers, EE Program Managers and various vendors engaged in performing work for SCE, including in the areas of LCR, custom technical reviews and DSM projects.
This is a critical position that helps the Engineering Services organization better optimize project activities across several different functions with a strong focus on leveraging resources and infrastructure to better serve our customers and stakeholders.
The scope of this job involves keeping the EPM Senior Manager updated with all relevant developments within the portfolio of assigned projects, especially LCR RFOs.
The primary focus areas for this position will be to coordinate the review, quality check and communication of findings related to projects under LCR RFO.
Other responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Managing SCE’s Customized Solutions Calculation Guidelines (for LCR & Customized offerings);
Vendor and project management for assigned custom projects;
Project management of EE, DR and C&S focused projects.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical) or equivalent discipline.
Eleven years of work experience with a minimum of five years of experience in managing technical projects focused on energy efficiency and demand side management (DSM).
Experience in Demand Response, Distributed Energy Resources, Storage, Energy Efficiency and other DSM related work.
Experience managing and implementing projects, including identifying, maintaining, and/or adjusting the cost, scope, and resources, managing vendors, and overseeing the formal planning, tracking, and reporting of project performance.
Experience utilizing energy savings calculation methodologies and M&V protocols for different EE project types.
Experience with program support functions (e.g., contract and contracted resource management, integrated schedule management, budget management, and reporting functions) with the ability to analyze information and make technically sound decisions.
Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project or other project management software.
P.E. License (or eligibility and desire to get license within 1 year of being in the job)
Must demonstrate effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to take initiative and hold others accountable for results.
Experience in collaborating on cross-functional teams to meet objectives along with analytical and interpersonal skills
Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
Experience with Energy Simulation tools
