Position overview

Provides strategic, analytical, technical support for business and technology solution planning activities. Works with IT planning teams and business clients to identify, collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into documentation (using appropriate tools and models) from which business cases and initiative/business capabilities roadmaps are developed. Conducts business case development, designs presentations and performs business process analysis to ensure integration, communication, alignment and proper hand-offs. Plays a key role in soliciting and documenting business requirements throughout the demand intake processes. May functions as a subject matter expert within for specific OU portfolio. Performs problem analysis, directs implementation of resolution and mitigation. Ensures all appropriate IT and OU technology planning artifacts are completed.

Typical Responsibilities

  • Leads the analysis of business requirements and the development of system requirements and design specifications to address complex business needs. Works with key business partners and IT teams to understand business priorities, identify strategic initiatives. Able to understand and assess business imperatives and goals, and articulating them as Information Technology needs. Facilitates translation of business needs to develop business cases.

  • Performs statistical analysis to support a wide variety of business initiatives to integrate work across relevant areas, develop business strategies and services, enhance client satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, execute business plans, and manage information. Provides valuable input to business intelligence roadmaps and development plans. Including ad-hoc report development and data mining. Coordinates projects/programs, process improvement efforts, performance analytics / metrics, optimization, cost budgets, project resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Including the creation, tracking and coordination of the investment planning documents (Investment and project proposals).

  • Partners with business and technology partners to elicit, analyze, translate, and document business requirements into technical requirements and capability roadmaps. Identify gaps in the potential solution and works with technical partners and stakeholders to develop alternatives.

  • Leads the demand intake process and the identification and training on the use of appropriate tools to support the work intake and routing processes.

Minimum qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience with customer service operations and / or business processes applications.

  • 5 years of experience in defining system requirements, project scope, and / or performing cost/benefit analysis.

  • 2 years of experience with Business Architecture, business capabilities, business maturity models and/or building multi-year initiative roadmaps that align to business objectives.

  • 2 or more years of experience successfully working in a large, dynamic business environment with changing priorities.

  • 2 or more years of experience working across multiple business units, developing the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, managing risks and safety appropriately, developing and executing business plans, managing information, and providing exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Desired qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience with transmission and distribution operating units.

  • 5 or more years of experience in defining system requirements, project scope, and performing cost/benefit analysis.

  • 2 or more years of experience making effective decisions that meet business needs while minimizing risk and operating within company policies and all levels of regulations.

  • 2 or more years of experience managing staff or projects.

  • 2 or more years of experience working independently with minimal management oversight.

  • 2 or more years of experience interfacing and collaborating with peers, multiple management levels, and internal and external clients.
