Southern California Edison Instructional Designer (TRS2) in Rosemead, California
This position will be in the Enterprise, Learning & Development division within Southern California Edison’s (SCE) HR Organizational Unit. The successful candidate will design & developing training curriculum for employees, alone, and in partnership with other instructional designers. The successful candidate will also establish and maintain working partnerships with employees and supervisors to ensure accurate and appropriate work practices are consistent with Company and Organization Unit/Group guidelines and policies.
Designing and developing e-learning training, self-study materials, classroom training and associated coursework, lesson plans, student guides and manuals.
Developing knowledge checks and assessments in partnership with the evaluations team for training courses and recommending corrective/coaching paths.
Partnering with subject matter experts, peers and management to identify training gaps (needs assessment and job/task analysis) and assist in the resolution of all training issues.
Determining development project milestones and deliverables.
Providing subject matter expertise on changes and improvements to work processes and procedures.
Facilitating instructor-led training courses.
Participating as a member of the Employee & Leadership Development group.
Promoting and maintaining and safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Demonstrated company values through decisions and actions.
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, HR, Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Five years of experience designing, developing and modifying web-based e-learning.
Five years of experience presenting and/or facilitating training courses.
Five years of experience in multimedia arts and applications including Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite,
Master’s degree in instructional design, HR, Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline, preferred.
photo, audio, illustration, animation and video editing processes.
Typically possesses five or more years of experience designing, developing technical training courses.
Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects, Logic Pro, Aperture, Pro Tools, Dream Weaver, Animate CC, Maya, 3D Studio Max, Moho Studio Pro, ToonBoom, Storyline, Final Cut.
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional work groups.
Demonstrated experience independently identifying client needs, developing action plans, identifying deliverables, and presenting results.
Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint.
Demonstrated ability to follow safety protocols and safe work practices.
Strong organizational, leadership and project management skills.
Must demonstrate the ability to integrate work cross-functionally, develop services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information and provide exceptional service to clients.
Great oral and written communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate data, context and implications to business stakeholders.
Candidates for this position must be legally authorized to work directly as employees for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
20% local travel may be required around the Edison service territory.
