Technical resource responsible for performing enterprise Voice/telecommunication planning, engineering, installation, documentation, diagnostics, moves, adds, and changes within the customer community and provides level 3 data network support on an after-hours on-call basis. Leads the completion of assigned general or short-term data engineering projects within budgetary and scheduling guidelines
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIIES:
- Plans, evaluates, and implements existing data and wireless network systems and makes recommendations for resources required to maintain and /or expand service levels.
- Responds to general technical data network facility hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools including SNMP and Syslog.
- Responds to requests for wireless and data communications connectivity that are related to moves, adds, and changes within the customer community.
- Assists in the analysis, scheduling, acquisition, implementation, and documentation of telecommunications hardware, software, and facilities for assigned projects.
- Helps develop technical standards and interface applications.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience required.
Project management and voice technologies is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of Data and Voice Network solutions.
Demonstrated experience in complex problem analysis.
Demonstrated project management experience.
Understanding of data communications concepts including: IP Routing, Network Topologies, VPN, Wireless, SNMP, and LAN/WAN. CCNA Preferred. Integration (TCP/IP networks and PC/Server technologies).
General proficiency in several areas of site telecommunications infrastructure including: Cable Types, Cabling Standards, Cabinet and Rack Layout, Distributing Frame Design, Terminations, Power Conditioning and UPS, Rectifier and Battery Systems
