Energy Northwest Administrative Assistant III - RP/Chemistry in Richland, Washington

General Summary

Under minimal supervision, perform advanced, diversified, and confidential administrative duties for Radiation Protection and Chemistry supporting two department managers and acting as the back-up to two department technical specialists. Occasionally provide back-up support for the PGM administrative assistant. Requires broad and comprehensive experience, skill, and detailed knowledge of organizational policies and practices. Acts in a leadership role and provides direction to complex projects and/or administrative personnel and provides feedback as necessary. Composes and may initiate routine correspondence, memoranda, reports and minutes. Resolves routine and complex inquiries, leads meetings, and provides training to peers and temporary employees.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Perform administrative duties for Radiation Protection and Chemistry managers and departmental personnel. Resolve issues/conflicts in the organization with little direction from management. Exercise discretion and independent judgment capable of analyzing the conflicting demands and make recommendations to management. Participate independently as a member of the management team. Assume responsibility for complex tasks assigned to the manager or supervisors in order to relieve them of administrative burden.

Anticipate future needs of the department and collaborate with the manager and supervisors in implementing changes/improvements as necessary. Ensure expenditures are within Energy Northwest and department guidelines.

Obtain, analyze, and act upon feedback from customers/suppliers to enhance communication among management, employees, and outside agencies. Provide leadership and professional guidance to other administrative support staff and temporary employees.

Function as administrator for Radiation Protection and Chemistry monitoring including calculating and analyzing data. Provide recommendations for improvements. Update and administer the Radiation Protection and Chemistry performance indicators.

Assist in obtaining access to Energy Northwest for contractors, visitors, etc.

Monitor AR’s, ensure qualifications are being met, refresher training is scheduled, and qualifications assignments are correct for those individuals within Radiation Protection and Chemistry. Assure safety meeting attendance. Attending training sessions as related to job skills.

Perform administrative duties for Senior Site ALARA Committee and Chemistry Cross Discipline Review Team.

Participate in ERO drills and training.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

A high school diploma or GED is required. Requires a minimum of five years of progressive administrative experience, including leadership responsibilities and independent decision making authority.

Salary Range

Salary: $46,227 minimum to $57,784 midpoint

Typically, selected candidates are hired at a salary rate between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.
