This is the third level of the CAD Operator classification. Senior CAD Operators may utilize Microstation, AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and/or AutoCAD Electrical to construct and revise civil and electrical design drawings from engineer's or designer's markups to support projects for high voltage transmission lines. These lines support and may require interface with drawings from generating stations, switchyards, substations, and other corporate projects regarding the construction or maintenance of electrical utility facilities. Incumbents are expected to utilize design skills in their field of study and the ability to work with greater independence. With Minimal Supervision: Designs thorough and accurate drawings from verbal and written instructions, sketches, field measurements, etc and may assist in scheduling department CAD work. Use and develop standards, work methods, compile 2D and 3D parts, blocks, and details that create more accurate and understandable drawings. Maintain and update electronic drawings in the company's document management system. Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities. Strives to continually improve job-related, technical, drafting software, and professional knowledge, skills and performance. Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. Maintains accurate records and files. Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally Qualifications: Basic Qualifications Either a graduate from a college or university with an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology (or equivalent) with 3 to 7 years experience, or 5 to 11 years of experience and completed (30) credit hours in an approved technical program, or 8 to 17 years equivalent experience with no degree.

Desired Qualifications Experience in the utility industry. Experience with both AutoCAD and Microstation Experience in either Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling or AutoCAD Electrical. CAD Experience with raster drawings. Working knowledge of various industry codes and standards. Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds Good written and oral communication skills. Job: Technical Specialty/Skilled Trade
