About Transmission and Distribution
Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.
This position will be overseeing various mapping activities and will report to the Manager of Survey Field & Mapping Groups. The Supervisor will direct the mapping groups daily work and manage resources to meet project due dates including overseeing a wide variety of mapping/GIS work and charged with building a team of diverse skills to better meet our client’s needs. The successful candidate will join the Real Properties Management Team and have a hand in guiding the future of the department.
Provides direct supervision to employees including assigning /evaluating work, approving timesheets, expenses, and performing appraisals.
Monitors metrics/measures to assure optimal throughput, quality, and performance.
Coordinates Survey Mapping work with Survey Manager to meet due dates.
Provides Professional Land Surveyors Certification for documents and maps if called upon to do so.
Supports Landbase Mapping Team by working with the Geospatial Equipment Data Maintenance (GEDM) Group.
Attends all Real Properties Management meetings related to improving the Comprehensive Geospatial Information System (CGIS)
Supports Information Technologies (IT) Groups efforts to remedy any CGIS issues.
Conducts monthly 1:1 meetings with each employee to solicit any personal or organizational issues or suggestions that they may have.
Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Land Surveyors in Training Certificate (L.S.I.T.) California
Seven or more years of experience performing Survey Field and Mapping related work.
Two or more years of experience managing, supervising, or leading a team.
California Professional Land Surveyors License (LS)
Bachelor of Science Degree in GIS, Geography, Business or other related discipline.
Experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
Experience organizing, leading or providing direction to cross-functional teams responsible for resolving complex issues or technical problems.
Integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
