Job Overview: This position will take the lead role in maintaining and supporting the systems that make up our UIL electric and gas transmission and distribution SCADA infrastructure. Provides architectural direction as well as operational support for troubleshooting of: routers, switches, firewalls, servers, workstations, and other enterprise services. Evolves support processes by working with other teams to document operational tasks and system processes, and also maintain system compliance with NERC/CIP regulatory guidelines. Although the primary focus of this position is to the lead SME on support and troubleshooting of routers, switches, and firewalls, it will also be responsible for providing basic support and troubleshooting servers and enterprise services.
Lead role in maintenance and support for real time and SCADA application systems.
Lead role in designing, maintaining and supporting the Electric and Gas network Infrastructure.
Lead role in maintenance and support for enterprise services including active directory, antivirus, group policies, authentication, file transfer, VPN, DHCP, and logging.
Maintain regulatory compliance under NERC/CIP guidelines.
Develop and Maintain high quality security controls surrounding the critical SCADA systems.
Provide assistance for technical staff, including the diagnosing and troubleshooting software, hardware, and network problems.
Work with other technical teams in the evaluations, customization, adaptation and implementation of infrastructurehardware and software systems, services and networks.
Education and Experience Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business or other technical discipline from an ABET accredited college/university. 10 years of related IT/SCADA experience performing system engineering duties for networking security and infrastructure. Professional Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, RHCSA, or CISSP or equivalent required. Minimum of 10 years of experience in implementing Network and Server Solutions in an enterprise environment.
Must have the following:
Strong expertise in designing/configuring/maintaining Cisco; routers, switches and firewall.
Strong experience in Microsoft Operating Systems, Active Directory, Group Policy, and server hardware.
Strong experience with Linux server operating systems (Red Hat preferred) and server hardware.
Experience administering other vendor solutions (Infoblox DDI/NetMRI, RSA SecurID, PulseSecure, Splunk, Ventyx/ABB).
Experience supporting McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator within an Enterprise environment.
Expertise supporting Log management solutions.
Proven history of working in a highly regulated environment.
Experience administering technical solutions such as IPS, IDS, DHCP, DNS, VPN, Antivirus, SNMP, TCP/IP, Routing & Switching.
Knowledge of security best practices within a restricted environment.
Experience supporting SCADA management or other types of real time systems desirable.
Also have the ability to apply judgment, implements solutions, and resolve conflicts, all in a multi-tasked environment. Familiarity with regulatory agencies; NERC, NPCC, ISO-NE, PURA preferred.
