Information Systems Technology Services is a unified organization comprised of various departments which collaborate effectively in order to deliver high quality technology solutions.
Position Summary
The IT Solution Engineer job family provides technical leadership in design, development and implementation of IT solution deliverables.
This position will support its customer information system, CC&B, which is one of two PG&E enterprise systems. CC&B processes metering data, generates billing and associated financials, processes customer payments, and initiates and tracks collection and severance. In addition, it contains information to support PG&E’s contact center and field services operations. CC&B is an Oracle application with approximately 100 plus direct interfaces to other internal and external applications. The organization is currently leading a multi-year transformational journey in modernizing Meter to Cash functions, which includes moving from CC&B to C2M (Customer to Meter) solution. Successful candidate will be part of the C2M program, leading the overall architecture tower for IT.
We are seeking a candidate with a solid understanding of application lifecycle best practices in design and integration of end-to-end solutions. The successful candidate must have deep level knowledge of meter to cash systems, including smart meter technology; a broad IT technology skill set, along with very strong communication and collaboration skills. The successful candidate will need to be able to lead and work in a matrix group environment.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000
Job Responsibilities
Creates and presents innovative solutions based on requirements, by utilizing subject-matter expertise.
Oversees all of the architecture and design of technology solutions supporting business requirements on projects.
Ensures design solutions delivered are aligned with the requirements in the technical/logic design
Provides advanced consulting and guidance during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT projects.
Ensures the successful implementation of the most complex, larger scale, and cross-functional new/enhanced systems on time, in scope and within budget.
Creates system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to system programmer and development teams.
Identifies and implements process improvements at the department level.
Presents findings and makes recommendations to high level leaders.
Identifies the developmental needs of others, and coaches and mentors others to improve their knowledge or skills.
Develops and maintains all technical standards, design patterns, reference architectures and roadmaps for a Reference Architecture Framework containing a broad collection of foundational services.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience with multi-tier enterprise technology environments.
10 years experience in IT-Information Technology engineering design and/or technical project implementation OR Master’s degree and 8 years of experience in IT engineering design and/or technical project implementation
Experience in team-oriented, collaborative environment
Experience in enterprise architecture environments, job-related
Experience in systems implementation, job-related
Desired:
Experience in project management, IT-Information Technology
Leadership experience
Good knowledge and understanding of Oracle C2M
Oracle C2M certifications
Proven ability to be flexible with managing numerous issues and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-visibility work environment (with multiple stakeholders who sometimes have competing priorities)
Technical Qualifications:
Applies deep level knowledge of subject area and procedures and techniques; ability to use and define technical details of assigned work.
Serves as key technical resource across several disciplines.
Mastery knowledge of systems design methodologies, application lifecycle, techniques and tools, and design patterns related to technical architecture
Demonstrates advanced knowledge, principals, and/or applications of the area; is able to understand complex ideas and make recommendations in this area.
Experience with multi-tier enterprise architecture environments
Proficient with SQL and running database queries
Oracle product knowledge is a must
