About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC), a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [DBN]

This position reports to Quality Control at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.


  • Conduct vendor source verification inspections at vendor facilities.

  • Perform civil, electrical, mechanical, and weld inspections on systems, structures, and components.

  • Perform NDE such as MT, PT, UTT, UTV, and VT on plant equipment.

  • Perform receipt inspection of items purchased for use to ensure quality requirements established in procurement documents are met.

  • Review work orders and apply appropriate inspection points based on a variety of factors such as ASME code requirements.

  • Job may require temporary assignment to, or travel between, various company locations and working overtime as needed.


  • An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other technical area is required.

  • Minimum of three years of related experience in equivalent inspection, examination, or testing activities in the Navy or at a nuclear power plant.

  • Current or past Level II Certification in three or more of the following disciplines: Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Receipt, and Welding.

  • Current or past NDE Level II Certification in MT/PT, UTT/UTV, and VT.

  • Current or past CWI Certification.

  • Ability to work independently, using proactive problem solving skills.

  • Effective oral and written skills.

  • Effective computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity with ASME Code requirements.

  • Must reside within Site Emergency Response Organization time requirement.
