JOB SUMMARY

Provides technical and managerial leadership to a group of compliance engineering professionals responsible for assuring compliance to the NERC Reliability Standards, providing program training, communication, violation processing and audit readiness. Ensures that the Reliability Assurance program stays current with industry initiatives and changes. (ITCM, ITCGP, ITCT, METC, ITCI)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Functions as a group leader for reliability assurance and represents the work unit in matters related to reliability compliance; meets regularly with staff to coordinate, plan, assign and schedule for annual, emerging and project related NERC compliance activities.

  • Develops and maintains effective procedures and ensures that the workgroup follows procedures consistently.

  • Implements risk management and controls processes in reliability assurance program.

  • Solves technical problems by interpreting and evaluating information, uncovering related issues, developing methods or procedures for gathering information, making recommendations and implementing solutions for matters related to reliability assurance.

  • Coordinates NERC, Regional and third party information requests, spot checks, mitigation and corrective action activities.

  • Provides expertise and guidance on compliance issues to IT, Real Time Operations, Planning and Engineering.

  • Provides leadership in reliability compliance evaluations of proposed projects in Engineering, Planning, IT and Operations.

  • Ensures that sustainable processes are in place to demonstrate compliance with applicable NERC standards.

  • Works closely with OCR, Planning, Engineering, Project Management and other related groups within ITC to ensure efficient and effective processes are followed.

  • Ensures that the group provides adequate support to all stakeholders both internal and external.

  • Provides coaching, supervision and training to staff; assists employees in developing performance goals, career plans and ensures that work group goals align with company priorities.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for projects and committees regarding technical and non-technical matters related to reliability assurance; participates in industry forums, stakeholder meetings and conferences as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in reliability or cyber security compliance.

  • Specific experience leading a NERC reliability compliance on-site audit.

  • Ability to review, analyze and apply NERC reliability standards.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of principle reliability assurance leadership experience.

  • Overall understanding of power system operations, transmission grid operations and related computer system applications.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including: the ability to convey information clearly, concisely and effectively and write technical reports.

  • Proven ability to work effectively as member of external and internal teams, including cross-functional teams.

  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

  • Professional compliance related (CCEP, CISA, CIA, ETC) certifications preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Oati webCompliance tool. Advanced knowledge preferred.

  • Working knowledge of Alert Enterprise, ITC CCMS system, RF MKInsight and Regional compliance portals preferred.

  • Knowledge of company transmission footprint and business unit staffing preferred.

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision preferred
