Manager Tax Accounting, Reporting, and Forecasting

This position will manages all tax accounting requirements for PSEG (Energy Holdings, Services Corp, Enterprise, and PSEG LI).

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare monthly tax accounting entries, reconciliations, variance analysis and supporting documents

  • Prepare and review reconciliation of the consolidated PSEG tax accounts and the consolidated FIN 48 reserves

  • Ensures compliance with and maintains all tax related internal controls

  • With direct oversight by the VP of Tax, manages the tax forecasting process for PSEG and its subsidiaries

  • Manage the tax accounting requirements of other divisions as may be required by the Director of Tax Accounting

  • Reviews the computation of the federal estimated tax payments and ensures timely payments

  • Works closely with other tax managers to ensure both compliance and accounting processes are optimized, as well as in developing and implementing tax planning strategies to generate tax cash-flow savings

  • Provides leadership and assists in the development of staff

Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting

  • CPA is required

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional tax experience in a large corporate environment or public accounting firm

  • Knowledge of federal and state tax law

  • Knowledge of GAAP Accounting Standards as they pertain to Income Taxes (ASC 740)

  • Proven organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Highest level of integrity

Desired Qualifications:

  • Masters in Taxation

  • Proven analytic and problem solving skills

  • Forecasting Experience

  • At least 5 years of management experience

  • Ability to build & maintain relationships
